In addition to rolling out an updated version of TweetDeck, Twitter Inc. are happy to announce an updated official Twitter client for iPhone users. In the company’s own words, “Four new tabs bring you instantly closer to everything you care about.”
The new enhancements are:
Home - which Twitter developers describe as “a personal collection of Tweets from the sources you care about. The Tweet details show rich information such as replies, retweets and embedded images.”
Connect - a place where you can track who followed or mentioned you. You can see retweets or see if you’re a favorite among your followers. “It’s where you keep the conversation flowing.”
Discover - as its name implies, you can use this tab to check out the trends, read the stories people are reading around the world, etc. This tab also acts as a gateway to new friends, interests, and hashtags.
Me - this tab makes it easy to exchange Direct Messages with your followers.

“We’ll be rolling out the redesigned Twitter over the next few weeks,” said the company in a blog entry.” iPhone and Android users are the first to get the enhancements.
Next stop is the iPad, says Twitter Inc.: “We’re working on updates for other apps, such as Twitter for iPad, and will share news as they become available.”
“What we’re announcing today is just the beginning,” the company adds. We now have a framework in place that we will quickly build and iterate upon to help users connect with whatever is meaningful to them.”
The iOS Twitter app is universal, meaning you download a single app for both your iPhone and your iPad. It requires iOS 4.0 or later.
